Artist Statement:
This ring was inspired by the idea of women as superheroes. The design represents a ring version of the famous Wonder Woman cuff bracelet. It is fold formed to divide the ring in half, which delineates between the gold and silver sections. The gold portion is hammered and has 24K gold foil bonded to fine silver. This section represents the unmatched strength of women. We face challenges and triumphs and that is what this texture represents. The gold is a symbol of the strength and boldness of women. The top portion has a matte texture accented with a diamond set in 18K gold. This section represents the delicate and feminine nature of women. Women are natural caregivers and have been endlessly giving during this past year. Whether they are caring for themselves, their families, their business or caring for their communities, women are giving. The diamond is said to represent harmony and beauty within and without.

Artist Bio:
As the daughter of two parents who owned their own businesses, I knew being an entrepreneur was in my blood. In October 2018, that destiny became a reality and Chrissy Liu Jewelry was created. In search for a creative outlet after leaving my career as an oncology healthcare administrator to be a stay at home mom, I took my first metalsmithing class in 2018 at Danaca Design Studio. I was instantly hooked. As an avid lover of fashion and jewelry, I have always been drawn to bold pieces. My love for big and bold stems from the fact that I am five feet tall, and it drives me crazy when fashion dos and don'ts put parameters on what I should or shouldn’t be wearing because of my size. As I learned to create jewelry, I naturally gravitated toward making bold pieces and being a new mom one of my primary goals was to make pieces that were wearable as well.
